Tales from the Tail — SEX with CBD

Client’s Tale

Short and sweet. No, I’m not referring to my anal play, but rather my tale. I am 35 and have the most ridiculous irritable bowel disease (IBS). You can imagine being born a bottom and how this could impact my life negatively. I’ve tried everything. I’ve been to every gastrointestinal physician and allergist and no one has been able to resolve the issue. I even did one of those send away tests that cost me a nice dime without any resolutions. Totally fucking frustrating.

I finally had come up with a system to find out if it’s even worth me attempting to stick anything up my ass. It purely depends on the looseness of my bowel movements and how many times I drop trough before leaving for work. If it’s 4 or less, I might get lucky tonight. But anything more than that, forget that shit — literally. It ain’t happening. Butt never say never… if the boy is truly worth it, I’ll take Imodium during the day to slow my gut motility and then make sure to clean myself with my shower hose for at least 15 minutes prior to engaging. Most of the time, though, I’ll just wait until another scenario develops on a different day.

More recently, I find myself harder than ever when I think of someone inside me. I have no idea what brought this on, but haven’t you ever, no matter what, just needed it? Like, don’t care, just shove it in? Luckily for me, after years of playing should-I-shouldn’t-I with my bowels, someone came to my rescue. A friend of a friend wound up seeing Dr. Evan Goldstein at

Bespoke Surgical and he said that he and Dr. Goldstein discussed using CBD to help settle gastrointestinal issues. When thinking about it and doing my research, all the added benefits made total sense. I am by no means a pothead and haven’t used it in years — I have no desire to feel “heady” anymore. So from my initial discussions and investigations into CBD, it seemed right up my alley (pun intended). I gave it a try, and having sampled several different brands, I am now the proud supporter of CBD oils. It hasn’t cured my IBS entirely, but it has significantly enhanced my quality of life. I take it daily with meals and then, leading up to a weekend when I know I am feeling extra frisky, I make slight alterations to positively decrease my bathroom visits.

I’m super fucking happy. Not all doctors think outside the box, providing for and positively impacting us bottoms, so I am grateful to have come across Dr. Goldstein. And because of him, whenever someone asks me what CBD stands for, I tell them: Craving Big Dick.

My Discussion

Everyone should be into anal these days, no? And all can benefit. But there is a subset of clients that has difficulty in fully engaging anally. There are notably both mental and physical limitations.

Over the weekend, I was featured in a great piece by HuffPo: Can CBD Improve Your Sex Life? This was something that really piqued my interest because I do believe in some of the medicinal effects of CBD, especially when it comes to anal engagement. As with most treatments, not everything works for everyone. For those who have tried traditional remedies and haven’t had any luck, I usually suggest CBD (in its various forms).

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid constituent of cannabis that has a wide array of beneficial effects, all the while without having any psychotropic activity. Benefits range from significant pain modulation, mood-enhancing, and stress-relieving effects, along with antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties. Whether the CBD is ingested orally, inhaled, applied topically as lotions and/or lubes, or inserted as suppositories, each of these forms would provide both localized and systemic effects, all in the hopes of relieving or enhancing one’s overall life experiences.

Mental and Physical Obstacles

As it pertains to my anal world, not only is it used extensively to assist in anal engagement as a “hole” (pun intended), but also it can specifically allow certain individuals for whom penetration would not be otherwise possible to finally achieve their sexual desires. In my practice, I see clients where this can even be a sticking point in the relationship — not being able to provide for their partner(s) the way in which one desires. Anal play is a crucial part in all communities, especially within the LGBTQ+ community.

The anal canal, through both suppository and lubricant administration, has significant plexuses of blood vessels, allowing for quick systemic absorption, all the while providing localized effects for fruitful engagement. Essentially, it allows anal intercourse to be that much easier without the harmful effects desensitizing lubes have (these can prevent you from feeling pain, which, in turn, increases the likelihood of serious injury). It’s truly a game-changer.

We also see its use assisting in healing anal tears, known as fissures, by its anti-inflammatory effects, along with decreasing the overall localized muscle pressure. The lowering of localized muscle pressure remedies the tear for complete healing and then sets the stage for future anal play, if so desired.

Lastly, mental relaxation is key to enjoying receptive anal sex and many are not blessed with this neurological skill. This technique can be a learned with the assistance of CBD as it can help decrease the time required to achieve complete relaxation. For men, it may help with Erectile Dysfunction caused by anxiety, depression, or other mental blocks. Additionally, pelvic floor dysfunction limits sexual pleasures across all genders.

A Truly Pleasurable Act

Its use can also supplement individuals who are already beyond capable of receiving and instead use it to make it even more mind blowing. This can mean heightened orgasms and/or closer partnerships. It’s more about taking an exciting experience in its own right and becoming more pleasurable for all involved parties with the ultimate goal of pure ecstasy.

Conclusion

My approach focuses on anal sexual play and how we all can best achieve that success. CBD has a definitive role, not only in my clinical practice, but also my clients’ sex practices, for two reasons: aiding physical impairment or limitations and enhancing an already pleasurable act. Regardless of one’s approach, its use is becoming commonplace, specifically in the anal world. With its multitude of effects, I am even starting to use it in my post-surgical anal restoration clients to improve pain control and overall healing.

*Disclaimer

I definitely suggest people consult a doctor who is knowledgable in CBD before experimenting with its use — sexually or otherwise. As with trying anything for the first time, you want to make sure it’s not going to interact with any personal ailments or other medications you may be on. Unfortunately, because this is a relatively new frontier, not all doctors have a comprehensive understanding of CBD. There are a lot of resources out there — medical experts and brands — that are leading the charge in educating the masses about CBD. Two brands we love are MedMen, which has a big online presence, as well as physical stores in a few states, and Lord Jones, which has an incredible selection of high quality CBD-infused products.

And now I turn to you: have you ever experimented with CBD during sex? And if so, has it enhanced your experience?
