Jai is a managing director at Sapphire Ventures who invests in startups he believes are developing ground-breaking products and services to become Companies of Consequence. He has more than 15 years of experience helping companies innovate their product and marketing strategies in order to scale and become market leaders. Jai is currently a member of the board (director or observer) at DataRobot, JFrog, Narrative Science, Netskope, Portworx, PubNub, Punchh, SumoLogic, and ThoughtSpot. His exits and IPO’s include Alteryx (AYX), Apigee (acquired by Google), Box (BOX), CloudHeath (acquired by VMware), Control4 (CTRL), Cyphort (acquired by Juniper Networks), ExactTarget (acquired by Salesforce), Five9 (FIVN), GroundWork (acquired by Parallax), Jaspersoft (acquired by TIBCO Software), JustDial (JUSTDIAL), Mulesoft (acquired by Salesforce), MySQL (acquired by Oracle), Newgen Software (NSTL) Nutanix (NTNX), Paytm, Tealeaf (acquired by IBM), Socrata (acquired by Tyler Technologies) and Square (SQ). Prior to joining Sapphire Ventures in 2006, Jai worked at Intel Capital, Agilent Ventures (formerly Hewlett Packard), and MVC Capital. Jai has a BS in electrical engineering from Brown University and an MBA from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
