問：何時應考慮使用 Snowball 而不是 Internet？
如果您需要更加安全快速地將數 TB 到數 PB 資料傳輸到 AWS，那麼 Snowball 是資料傳輸的一個有效選擇。如果您不希望對網路基礎設施進行昂貴的升級、您經常遇到大量資料積壓的情況、您在物理隔絕環境下工作，或者您所在的區域沒有高速 Internet 連線或這種高速連線的成本過高，Snowball 同樣是正確的選擇。
根據以往的經驗，如果使用現有 Internet 連線的空閒容量將資料上傳到 AWS 需時超過一週，則您應考慮使用 Snowball。例如，根據下表中的指南，如果您有 100Mb 的連線可完全用於傳輸資料，並且有 100TB 的資料需要傳輸，那麼使用該連線完成資料傳輸所需的時間會超過 100 天。而使用多臺 Snowball 進行同樣的傳輸，僅需一週左右。
