1、 drinking fountain

今天可愛的小海蒂跑到fountain為Mr. Sesemann 接來新鮮的水，那麼fountain是什麼呢？fountain是噴泉的意思，如果裡面的水可以飲用，那這個fountain 則是drinking fountain。它是一種提供飲用水的設施，一般放置在學校、街道、休閒區上，供人們使用。

這個設定設立的初衷，是倫敦市想要改善城市飲用水受汙染的問題，為大眾提供安全的飲用水。1859年4月21日，第一個drinking fountain在英國的Holborn Hill落成，並且在落成之後大受歡迎，其它地區也紛紛建造自己的drinking fountain。
