今年 6 月份，Microsoft 對外宣佈以 $75億 收購 GitHub，並委任 Nat Friedman 為收購後的 GitHub CEO。Nat Friedman 任職 Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Developer Services 負責 Visual Studio Team Services 及 App Center。此前，Nat 有豐富的開源專案、基金會的經營經驗。1999 年創立

Who is Nat Friedman?

Nat 介紹自己的人生經歷，他來自一個完全與軟體開發無關的家庭。年輕時，他經常通過網際網路分享和下載程式碼。後來就瞭解了開源軟體，之後便投入其中，並接連創立了 Ximian / GNOME 和 Xamarin 公司。2 年前，Microsoft 受夠了 Xamarin，當時的 CEO Satya Narayana Nadella 問他想做什麼，他說想要收購 GitHub，而這個事情就發生了！

Will Microsoft change GitHub?

GitHub 會一直是一個非常獨立的公司，只作為 Microsoft Family 中的一部分。GitHub 是一個非常好的平臺，它非常的好用和簡便。Developer First 是 GitHub 信條，任何幫助開發者更好的功能和服務皆會考慮，而反之則堅決不會去做。GitHub 是一個擁有大量開發者的社群，而社群是 GitHub 的本質，讓社群發揮價值是 GitHub 的使命。

The Future of OSS?

開源是一種合作開發的模式，它帶了很多重要的創新，而未來這個模式會繼續引領技術發展。和 20 年前相比，程式碼是否更好了？不能完全這麼說，整個程式碼世界一定是更加強大的，我們不斷站在巨人的肩上，但同時也帶了許多新的問題。未來的開源世界，開發者會在這個社群裡快速的組織各種虛擬團隊，大家合作生產內容。

當你成為 GitHub CEO 後第一個要乾的事情是什麼？

Tweet about it! 如何幫助開源專案的運營維護者更好地管理和服務它的專案應該是第一個去發力的方向。長期來看，如何讓 GitHub 上的開發者長期地高活躍度的溝通和貢獻是永恆的目標。

選擇任何一個平臺是使用者的自由，Developer First 的目標和讓 GitHub 更好是我們工作的重點。如何維持 GitHub 更好，並讓使用者在理性的選擇之後繼續使用或回到 GitHub 才是重點。我也希望瞭解更多大家的需求，到底如何讓 GitHub 更好。

GitHub Star 數很重要，現在不少中國開發者會刷 Star，GitHub 是否會管理去解決這個問題

Q: As we know, you have great experience in developing and managing open source projects. Chinese young developers are very crazy about open source but the community is still at its early stage. So, any recommendation to open source project creators and contributors? What are the crucial factors to make a open soruce project successful?

Q: 大家都知道您有很多的開發、管理開源專案的經驗。現在中國年輕開發者非常喜歡開源軟體，但是整個社群的建設仍在很早期的階段。基於您的建議，有什麼建議給開源作者及貢獻者？哪些重要因素決定了一個開源專案的發展？

Q: As a community manger, we can seen young Chinese developers have great passion on Open Source. However, the whole open source ecosystem is very insufficient, like guidance and education. Any recommendation for community mangers to help this ecosystem to grow? And what do you think about Chinese User unfriendly behaviors on GitHub?

Q: Serveral days ago, it's reported that Ping An Cloud and GitHub confirmed cooperation that Ping An Cloud will be the MSP (managed services provider) for GitHub. Apart from this cooperation, will GitHub provide services directly to Chinese market? What do you think about Chinese market?

Q: 幾天前，媒體報道了平安雲成為了 GitHub 在國內的 SMP，除了這個合作之外，GitHub 是否有計劃拓展中國市場？以及您對中國市場現狀是怎麼看的？
