A Silicon Valley Veteran Cutting into the Blockchain World
Since them, Larry has been working with Yiqun in leading the team. The team have in mind a “public chain of high availability, strong security and high efficiency”, and in order to make it reality, they are digging into consensus mechanism, token incentive system, TVM, smart contract, network communication and distributed storage. By programming smart contracts on VM, along with trusted pluggable security components, the team aim at providing the developers with a convenient and rich development environment.
Just like all public chain start-ups, Larry wishes TASchain cam bloom with millions of users. But speaking of domestic competition, he’s not concerned, “check a project and see if it has its own consensus algorithm, core technology and how much of the code is original, and you have the whole story”.
He believes a truly promising project should be assessed against these questions:
Can its consensus algorithm solve the impossible triangle?
How shading and cross-chain scenarios are dealt with?
How to implement distributed storage and parallel computing for higher efficiency and lower cost?
How to improve communication efficiency of the network?
How to generate true random numbers, does the project has its own method?
Does the project has its own virtual machine?
How to improve the availability, security and efficiency of smart contract?
By asking these questions, Larry’s confidence is self-evident — so far, TASchain is already holding or applying for several core patients. And such confidence simply can date back to as far as Larry’s Nortel and WebSense days, both of which are leading titles in the industry.
Larry puts it quite bluntly that he’s not aiming for top 5 of the globe, “if eventually we couldn’t make it to the top 3, that would be failure for me”.
To Larry, TASchain is now his ideal and responsibility. He’s working to put blockchain into everyday life, to bring benefits for people, and eventually truly serve the people and society. This time, he’s not setting a time limit, but he hopes the day can come as soon as possible.
