Automatic Tooth Region Separation for Dental CT Images

【背景】
提出了該領域研究內容：In order to reconstruct each tooth model from images we need to handle the following problems such as separation of the upper and lower jaws, detection of the orthodontic features, fitting of the dental arch, determination of the tooth interstice, segmentation of the tooth boundary, etc.
用全景圖分離牙齒在某些切片可能會出錯，畢竟全景圖丟失了三維資訊。

本文方法還是從積分投影最小的角度出發，不過是在3D資料上面計算。沿著牙弓線每個點都計算積分投影。每個切片都擬合牙弓線，選一條最長的。（現在的方法不需要了）

【方法】
首先擬合牙弓線，然後基於牙弓線積分投影平面分離相鄰牙齒。

【討論&啟發】
本文提出了一種分離相鄰牙齒和上下頜的方法。整個沒什麼理論深度，就是積分投影而已。回頭研究一下他在2005年那篇文章上到底做了多少改動？
難得的是，本文很坦誠，承認自己很多assumption。然後還指出了用一條直線來分離相鄰牙齒有時候是不可靠的。
